    BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The Malta Institute of Accountants is organising a 2 hour CPE session to guide practitioners through the MIA Guidance Note on the Audit Exemption Rules under Subsidiary Legislation 372.33 (Legal Notice 139 of 2025). The session will walk participants through the MIA Technical Release and focus on both the key provisions of the guidance and the practical aspects of applying the audit exemption in practice.

Why is the session of relevance to our members?

Participants will gain practical insight into how the audit exemption rules apply in practice, including key eligibility criteria, interpretational challenges, and professional considerations. The session will also provide feedback on additional questions and issues raised by practitioners since the issuance of the Guidance Note, with participants having the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly during the session

    Target Audience

This session is relevant for audit practitioners, accountants, and tax professionals advising SMEs, as well as professionals involved in assurance or financial reporting. It is suitable for both MIA members and non members impacted by the new audit exemption framework.
