BACKGROUND INFORMATION

This workshop is designed to highlight the importance of mental health and well-being for professionals working in accounts and finance. Participants will explore common mental health challenges, including stress, anxiety, depression, and burnout, with a focus on recognising early warning signs and understanding their impact on both personal well-being and workplace performance. The workshop will examine the unique pressures associated with the accounts and finance profession, such as high workloads, tight deadlines, peak reporting periods, regulatory demands, and the expectation of accuracy, and how these factors can contribute to psychological strain. Throughout the session, attendees will gain practical knowledge, evidence-based strategies, and skills to support their mental health, build resilience, manage workplace stress effectively, and foster a healthier and more supportive work environment.

    Speaker's Profile

    Deborah Giordimaina is a senior health psychologist, gestalt psychotherapist, and registered clinical supervisor with extensive experience in the mental health field. She has worked across various sectors, including psychiatric and community settings, providing therapeutic support to individuals facing mental health difficulties stemming from psychiatric or medical conditions. She has always had a keen interest in working with different population groups and throughout her career she has had the opportunity to work in the areas of child and adolescent mental health, education, and medical health. She offers supervision to professionals working in clinical settings. Beyond her clinical and supervisory roles, Deborah also lectures at various educational institutes, including the University of Malta.
