The Future is Human!
Turning the spotlight on Emotional Intelligence in the Finance Profession
MIA and ACCA collaborated on an evening with a difference where the focus was lit on Emotional Intelligence contextualised for the accounting profession in the digital age.
Leaders with a diverse expertise in AI, leadership, emotional intelligence, accountancy and business, shared their take on EQ and its relevance to the profession in the digital age. They shared stories that explained what emotional intelligence is and its application in the work environment.
Narayanan Vaidyanathan briefly presented findings of a recent report written on this subject saying that EQ is part of the future of the profession and will see it embedded in exams and case studies in future. He believes that there is value left on the table if emotional intelligence isn’t brought in during negotiations, especially for decisions that impact the future.
Patrick J Psaila maintained that the way forward is a synthesis of the four core elements IQ + EQ + Physical Intelligence + Spiritual Intelligence.
AI and the digital age are certainly here to stay; however, the future is decidedly human!
The evening was wrapped up making connections over a glass of wine and canapes in the lovely grounds of Villa Arrigo.
This was another complimentary initiative by MIA to engage with its members and to promote professional development within a social context.
