Background Information

Internal Audit faces a daunting challenge. Businesses are changing as they embrace the innovation economy. Well-documented advances in new technologies and the drive for innovation and digital transformation are upending industries and increasingly are challenging Internal Audit functions to remain relevant. However Internal Audit not only must respond to these changes, but also must be prepared to assess if the business is undertaking its innovation and transformation initiatives in the best possible manner. In order to accomplish this, Internal Audit must innovate itself.

Objectives of the Session

There has probably never been a more important time to have a strong, professional Internal Audit function. The function is now required to provide a much more significant level of assurance. The aim of this seminar is to highlight ways of how Internal Audit can shake off its traditional historic focus and transform itself into a modern, proactive, and future-focused business partner. The function must be guided by a philosophy of adding value to promote positive change and improve the operations of the organisation.

Topics of the agenda

  •  Transforming Internal Audit into a strategic business advisor
  •  Successfully leveraging technology in Internal Audit management
  •  Elevating the stature and perspective of the Internal Audit function
  •  Benchmarking the Internal Audit function against worldwide best practice

Target Audience

This seminar is targeted at Internal Audit practitioners and students, as well as managers of other business and assurance functions who are interested in gaining a better understanding of the Internal Audit function, its challenges and strategic development.
